Frequently asked questions.
How much? just to stand in the corner & play music.
Understandably the first question most people ask. But lets take a minute to look at the costs behind the running of a disco service: Firstly the telephone, then there is advertising, insurances, heating, lighting, (We don't work in a dark unheated shed) office consumables including printing & postage, web site purchase & upkeep, vehicle fuel, road tax, vehicle maintenance, broadband internet, work clothes, washing bill, large amounts of coffee to keep me sane, & this is only the tip of the iceberg! Oh, then there's the disco, quality equipment costs an arm & a leg. Equipment has to be purchased, sometimes unexpectedly replaced, & we have to have spare equipment, the disco equipment has to be cleaned regularly & PAT (Portable Appliance Tested) once a year. Another big expense is music. Most people are amazed when they ask for a song & we've got it. But it didn't fall off of a tree! it had to be paid for! Some weeks 10+ songs enter the charts & we have to buy them, many times in advance. Karaoke & DVD discs are released monthly & again we have to buy them to keep up with the latest releases. Finally, let's not forget the taxman, he loves his slice of the cake! I could go on & on for ages but hopefully you will now have an insight into exactly what you get for your money. When you book us for your entertainment, you don't just get a disco, you get a complete service.
Do you do children's discos?
We only do discos for children (sorry, young adults) aged 13 & up.
Do you take requests?
It's our policy to play all requests as long as they suit the occasion, for example if we have the dance floor full & have wound the music up to 140 beats per minute of dance music, we won't play Titanic 'next' just because somebody says it will fill an already full dance floor. By the same token we won't play music with explicit lyrics unless previously agreed, so you can rest assured that granny won't be getting treated to an earful of swear words while she's drinking her 1 glass of sherry.
Can you set up early for our wedding?
In venue's where the wedding breakfast is the same room that's used for the disco, it's in everybody's interest for the disco to be set up early & in many cases, for local venue's we do this free of charge. One thing to bear in mind however is that if your top table is in front of the disco, all of your photo's will have the equipment in the background. Normally this is discussed on an individual basis so that you get exactly what you want from us.
What if you can't make it on the day?
Spare DJ's, vehicles & equipment ensure that this has never happened. Over 9 years & 0000's of bookings we have never let one of our clients down. Although we are a family business, there are 3 of us that can DJ & as we only ever book one client a day you can be assured that one of us will always be available.
